Basta Basura explodes with energy as it tells the story of a little girl named Rosa Maria who goes to the beach to play and visit her favorite sea animals: otters! However, her fun in the sun takes an interesting twist when she is faced with the dilemma of where to throw her trash away! With no garbage can in sight, Rosa Maria searches frantically for a proper place to discard of her plastic water bottle and even considers throwing it in the ocean!

Suddenly, she finds herself in the company of a scheming trash monster named Beto Basura who will stop at nothing in his attempts to coax Rosa Maria into littering, and ultimately helping him create an army of trash to conquer the seas! But before its too late, Ollie the Otter appears to show Rosa Maria the true detriment she will cause to the ocean and its inhabitants, like Tito Tortuga and Frankie Fishy, if she decides to listen to Beto and throw the bottle into the water. In the end, Rosa Maria decides to reject Beto Basura’s ploys, throws the bottle in a recycling bin, helps keep the oceans clean by spreading the news of the 3R’s: Reduce, Reuse and Re cycle!
