Teatro Lab

El Teatro Campesino proudly announces the formation of ETC's new TEATRO LAB. Teatro Lab is a theatrical laboratory and a community of artists working towards exploring new 21st century visions and theatrical voices, in the process expanding the scope of what is traditionally defined as the theater of "El Teatro Campesino."

The plan of the Teatro Lab is three-fold:

- To create One New Original Laboratory Production each year.
- To workshop two "staged readings" of Works-in-Progress each year.
- To host ongoing public workshops and laboratories in all fields associated with creating theater.

It is a core belief of El Teatro Campesino that theater is fundamentally an expression of the human spirit. The Teatro Lab aims to give people the tools and supportive space to explore and cultivate that spirit.
